Meet Our Team

Mike Cowley

President

Mike Cowley oversees the extensive Cowley Companies real estate based portfolio.  Mike’s current passion is repurposing historic warehouses in downtown Phoenix to unique office space.  Mike graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Organizational Psychology.  Mike is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership serving as Co-Chair for the Economy Task Force Committee, in addition to serving on the Maricopa Health Foundation Board, commissioner on the Maricopa County Planning & Zoning Committee and Chairman of the Board for the Maricopa County Special Health Care District.

Greg Fletcher

Chief Financial Officer

Greg Fletcher is responsible for the accounting operations, financial reporting, estate planning and treasury functions of the business.  He enjoys the innovative and collaborative approach that the company uses to build community alliances and grow the company’s presence where it chooses to invest.  Greg graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Before coming to Cowley Companies, Greg worked for many years in the lending and public accounting industries where he was a Vice President at FINOVA Capital Corporation after having first worked as a tax professional at Deloitte & Touche, LLP.

Rory Blakemore

Portfolio Manager

Rory Blakemore is responsible for Cowley Companies real estate holdings including all new acquisitions, managing the land portfolio and processing all entitlements. Rory graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science. Prior to Cowley Companies, Rory was the lead staffer for Councilman Tom Simplot where he learned the ins and outs of city government.

Rob Schmitz

Property Manager

Rob Schmitz oversees all aspects of the building portfolio including leasing, broker management, building maintenance, building improvements and tenant retention.  Prior to joining the team, Rob worked as the Director of Education and Community Outreach for the Arizona Multihousing Association.  In this role, he earned national recognition for his work to create educational opportunities in this sector.

Jacob Tyler

Development Manager

Jake Tyler is responsible for new development projects within the Cowley Companies portfolio, overseeing all parts of the development timeline, including acquisition, design, financing, construction, and stabilization. Jake holds a Master of Real Estate Development degree from ASU as well as a B.S. in Economics with a minor in mathematics. Prior to his development role with Cowley Companies, he was the primary analyst for the Arizona office of Catellus Development Corporation, where he handled all underwriting, development modeling, and financial management for the 355-acre Novus Innovation Corridor project.

Tyler Fletcher

Property Manager

Tyler Fletcher oversees and manages all aspects of Cowley Companies’ extensive building portfolio.  He is responsible for maximizing occupancy within the portfolio, creating and maintaining healthy tenant relationships, interfacing with and cultivating relationships with brokers in the Downtown Phoenix submarket, and oversight of all preventative maintenance, repairs and general construction projects that impact Cowley Companies’ building portfolio. Tyler Graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business with a B.S. degree of Finance from ASU and also holds a current Arizona real estate license. Tyler is an Arizona native who in his free time enjoys the occasional mountain bike ride, but mostly enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.

Nicole Valdez

Office Manager

After a rewarding two-decade career as a dedicated educator, Nicole transitioned into her role of Office Manager and Personal Assistant to Mike Cowley. Her experience nurturing young minds has equipped her with valuable skills that now contribute to the efficient operation of her current workplace. Beyond her professional life, Nicole is a devoted wife to her husband of 2023 and a loving mother to two biological children and three stepchildren. A passionate individual, she enjoys traveling, yoga, and immersing herself in the vibrant energy of live music.

Imee Esguerra

Accounting

Imee has been with Cowley Companies since 2007 and is an integral part of our accounting department, specializing in property management and managed capital accounting.  She handles the financial reporting, treasury and tax prep for all managed capital and our internal property management company. Imee graduated from Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Before immigrating to the U.S., she was an Assistant Comptroller for 7 years and Cost Accountant for 10 years.

Jordan Koford

Accounting

Jordan Koford works closely with Greg Fletcher overseeing all tax and accounting functions for the business. Jordan graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in taxation. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.  Prior to Cowley Companies, Jordan spent five years at Deloitte Tax specializing in business tax services for passthrough entities and family offices. Originally from CA, he now calls AZ home, loves a good show or movie, and is a talented piano player.

Billie Jo Richey

Accounting

Billie Jo is responsible for the daily accounting functions at Cowley Companies. Billie Jo graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Prior to Cowley Companies, Billie Jo worked in accounting in several different industries including retail, truck leasing and the food industry.

Monson Cowley

Property / Project Manager

Monson assists Rory and Mike with all things real estate including negotiating contracts, coordinating closing transactions, securing ag leases and juggling the management of outside consultants.   Monson graduated from BYU with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Management.
